Does the portable monitor work with a single USB-C cable?
Does the portable monitor work with a single USB-C cable?
Yes — this monitor is specifically designed to work seamlessly with just one USB-C cable for both power and display. That means no clutter, no adapters, and no need to plug in a separate power supply for everyday use. Simply connect the monitor to your device’s USB-C port, and it will power on and display instantly.
At AURA DISPLAYS, we build our monitors for maximum portability and ease of use. Whether you’re setting up in a coffee shop, a coworking space, or your home office, a single cable is all it takes to get started. No additional setup. No extra weight in your bag.
However, to benefit from this feature, your device must have a USB-C port that supports both power delivery (PD) and DisplayPort Alt Mode. Some USB-C ports — especially on older or entry-level devices — may only support charging or data transfer, but not video output. In that case, a second cable or adapter may be necessary to work properly.
For the vast majority of modern laptops, especially MacBooks and recent Windows ultrabooks, one single USB-C cable will be more than enough to power the monitor and display your content, all at once — no external power supply needed.
This streamlined design is ideal for professionals, students, and digital nomads who are constantly on the move and need an efficient, clutter-free workspace. It also makes transitions between workstations incredibly fast — just plug in and you’re ready to go.
Some high-performance or extra-bright models may optionally support additional power via a second cable for intensive use cases (like extended high-brightness use or older laptops with lower power output), but for the vast majority of users and situations, a single USB-C is all you need.
If you’d like to confirm compatibility or see more details for your specific operating system, laptop model, or use case, we recommend visiting the technical specifications page and scrolling to the "Connectivity & Power" section: https://aura-displays.com/pages/technical-specifications
